Located within the Grand Portage Indian Reservation near the Canadian border, the Grand Portage Land Port of Entry serves passenger vehicles, commercial traffic and pedestrians traveling between the United States and Ontario.
McGough is providing design-build services for the comprehensive modernization of Minnesota’s second-largest land port of entry. The project will replace outdated facilities with new, modern buildings designed to enhance security, increase processing capacity and provide safer, more efficient conditions for employees and travelers.
Improvements will include additional traffic lanes, a wider commercial truck lane and upgraded operational spaces to reduce congestion and support growing trade and travel volumes. Once complete, the modernized port will strengthen an important international gateway while supporting national security, regional commerce and access to the surrounding Grand Portage community.
