Originally constructed in 1986, Hector International Airport’s terminal has long served the region’s growing travel needs. As passenger volumes increased, an expansion and renovation became necessary to enhance capacity, efficiency, and the overall traveler experience.
The project includes a 73,000-square-foot terminal expansion and a 113,000-square-foot renovation of the existing facility. The expansion adds new boarding gates and modernizes passenger amenities, while the renovation transforms current gate areas and public spaces to better support today’s travel demands. Key improvements include a reconfigured security checkpoint, expanded ticketing and waiting areas, and refreshed finishes throughout the terminal. Restroom facilities and passenger circulation areas have also been enhanced to accommodate increased traffic and improve comfort.
Travelers will benefit from upgraded concessions, family-friendly spaces, sensory areas, and improved accessibility features. The design prioritizes a welcoming, efficient environment that enhances the overall passenger experience.
