Building for the Next Generation

Our Projects

College of St. Scholastica, Science Building

Educational

Project Description

40,000 SF wing expansion that enhances the college’s existing science center. Features include seven chemistry/biochemistry laboratories, six faculty/student research areas, two classrooms, faculty offices and an atrium-style gathering space. The exterior of the new addition is designed to complement the existing science building, utilizing similar materials and architectural language to create a cohesive updated science center. Added transparency at the new entry connects the inner function of the building to the campus and the landscape and allows more visibility and natural light into the building. The expansion added 31,800 SF of space to the building, including classrooms, labs, faculty space, a central atrium, and mechanical support.

McGough has been building, renovating, remodeling and expanding educational facilities for more than 60 years. We feel honored to have had the opportunity to construct many of the places – classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, student housing, and recreational and performing arts facilities – where students’ lives have been, and continue to be, shaped for generations to come.
