Following the 2022 derecho that destroyed Salem’s former community center, the city partnered with McGough to construct a new 13,920 SF City Hall and Community Center. The facility serves as the community’s civic and social hub, combining city offices, a council chamber, and a multipurpose event space under one roof.
The project includes a 5,200 SF event hall with a walking track, a catering kitchen, meeting rooms, restrooms with showers for emergency use, and space adaptable for recreation activities such as pickleball. Outdoor amenities include a gazebo, landscaped areas, and patios designed for community events and gatherings.
