Children's Minnesota

Minneapolis Emergency Department Patient Flow Renovation

Located in the heart of Minneapolis, this comprehensive renovation reimagined the pediatric emergency experience at Children’s Hospitals & Clinics of Minnesota. Spanning 6,100 square feet, the project was delivered using the Construction Manager-at-Risk (CMAR) method to ensure seamless collaboration and minimal disruption to critical care operations.

Over the course of the phased construction, McGough executed an ambitious redesign that included the entrance vestibule, security station, registration and triage rooms, waiting and Fast Track spaces, exam rooms, and restrooms. In addition, 1,450 square feet of new administrative support space was built out in the MDB building to enhance operational efficiency. Working closely with hospital leadership and staff, infection-control protocols, safety procedures and a carefully sequenced phasing plan enabled uninterrupted emergency care throughout the renovation.
