The linear accelerator addition to CentraCare – Rice Memorial Hospital brings state-of-the-art technology to the Willmar Cancer Center, proudly serving the Willmar community and the surrounding region. The new 5,370 SF addition features a new linear accelerator that brings precision and efficiency to the forefront of cancer care efforts, along with enhanced staff space and a connecting internal corridor. The backlit ceiling design enhances the patient experience and provides necessary illumination during the treatment.
The existing imaging space was repurposed for high dose-rate brachytherapy procedures. Originally, this crucial treatment was only done in the early morning or late afternoons due to space constraints. Now, these high-dose radiation treatments are offered during regular daytime hours, providing more accessibility to patients.
