In an exciting development, McGough is proud to announce a new partnership with Folds of Honor, a national nonprofit that provides scholarships to the spouses and family members of America’s fallen and disabled service members.

Through this collaboration, McGough will fund six scholarships for students from veteran families, helping them pursue secondary and post-secondary education, with a focus on careers in construction, trades and related fields. These scholarships are part of Folds of Honor’s mission to bridge the education gap for military families and are timed for distribution ahead of the upcoming fall enrollment period.
The initiative will focus on McGough’s key regional markets, including Minnesota, Iowa, Texas, North and South Dakota, and Raleigh, NC—areas where the company has a strong operational presence and continues to grow.
Jim Houston, Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at McGough, sees the partnership as a natural extension of McGough’s values.
“We love the idea of growing our support for the veteran community, especially knowing the sacrifices people made for us to enjoy the freedoms we continue to benefit from,” said Houston. “These individuals and their families have given us a lot, and we are indebted to them. This partnership allows us to give back in a meaningful, lasting way by supporting their futures.”

Once Folds of Honor chooses scholarship recipients for the 2025/26 school year, McGough plans to stay closely involved with them, offering mentorship, industry guidance, and hands-on learning opportunities to help students thrive.
“We want to ensure these students feel supported beyond just tuition assistance,” added Houston. “We’re excited to offer mentorship and real-world experience from seasoned professionals to help them succeed for a long, long time.”
This partnership is just one part of McGough’s broader commitment to community engagement and workforce development. As the company expands across the Midwest, Southwest, and Southeast, McGough continues to prioritize local impact through education, fundraising, and skill-building programs.
