McGough worked with St. Mary’s to evaluate the existing conditions of their nearly 100-year-old cathedral and separate parish center facility. Following a visioning process with the church members, our team developed options for evaluation and consideration to address remodeling, new construction or relocation alternatives. The subsequent project involved waterproofing the basement of the cathedral; tieing the roof run-off into the storm sewer; installing a new copper roof; tuck pointing masonry; adding exhaust air in the attic space and adding a new ADA-compliant rest room. The parish center was reroofed, classroom windows were replaced with new energy-efficient units, two restrooms were upgraded to ADA code, and an elevator was added for ADA access.
