Jeff Morris

Central MN Estimating Manager

How many years of experience do you have in this industry and with McGough?
I’ve worked in the construction industry for 22 years and I’ve been with McGough for a little over 4 years.  I started my career working as a general laborer, carpenter, mason tender and then moved into the office side of the business after I received my 4 year degree in Construction Management from University of Wisconsin Stout.

What led you to your current role at McGough?
I joined the McGough team in early 2017 as a Senior Estimator for the Healthcare market sector. I had the opportunity to work on a lot of very exciting projects but the Essentia Health Vision Northland project gave me the chance to lead a very large size estimating effort. After that effort was completed I was given the opportunity to manage the estimator I and II’s which has now progressed into managing the estimating department.

What do you like most about your job?
What I like most about my job are the relationships that are developed working in the construction industry. We get the chance to meet and interact with owners, architects, subcontractors and develop long lasting working relationships and friendships.

What do you enjoy most about the construction industry?
I enjoy working with our internal team members, subcontractors and that we’re able to create a lot of long lasting relationships and friendships.

Why do you enjoy working for McGough?
I really appreciate the people, the culture and working for a company with such a great reputation in the market. After joining the team I know why McGough has that reputation, it’s built on of ALL of the great people that work here!

What do you like to do in your free-time?
I really like spending time outdoors with my wife Jane and our two black labs, Louie and Quinn. I try to golf as much as possible, along with pheasant hunting and fishing!
