Minnesota Soybean Processors (MnSP) and Louisiana-based CGB Enterprises are starting construction on a $400 million soybean crushing plant one mile west of Casselton, N.D. The two entities named the venture, North Dakota Soybean Processors, LLC.
A trucking company with roots in Waterloo dating back to 1949 will be sticking around for years to come. Warren Transport executives, with the help of Grow Cedar Valley ambassadors and Mayor Quentin Hart, broke ground on a new 36,000 square foot headquarters Thursday at 3124 Titan Trail off Ridgeway Avenue and Greyhound Drive. “It’s been a long time coming. Warren Transport’s been a part of the Cedar Valley area for 70 plus years, and we’ve outgrown our current facility,” said President Jim Schommer. “We’re now looking forward to investing in our new corporate facility.” Visit The Courier for the full story.

Twin Cities Headquartered Builder-Developer to Transform 60-Year Old Trucking Terminal to Accommodate Growth
The bustling growth in the city of Duluth, Minnesota continues! Last week, we officially broke ground on a 45,000-square-foot Health Science building for the College of St. Scholastica. The new facility will be the first-ever off-campus academic building for the college. It will house multiple classrooms and laboratories and includes a free clinic that will serve patients with or without insurance, giving students valuable hands on supervised training.
Tuesday, April 20, 2015 marked the groundbreaking of the new Spam Museum, located in Austin, MN. Numerous dignitaries, community members, and Hormel Foods team members attended the event.
TPT’s project vision of connecting local communities with their spaces is being realized even with their headquarters currently under construction. David Gillette and the team from Almanac are giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the headquarters renovation through a weekly video series that unveils the true inner workings of producing quality TV amid a construction zone.
Construction wrapped up in mid-December on the new Surly Brewing Co. Destination Brewery and already it’s a hot spot among locals. McGough is pleased to have been a part of such a fun project with Omar Ansari, all of the project partners, & the entire Surly Brewing Co. Team!
It is always great to see one of your projects on a top ten list and it’s even better when you see two projects on the list! This week The Line posted a list of the 10 development projects that they feel will transform Minneapolis-St. Paul in 2015, both Surly Brewhouse and the Ordway Concert Hall addition were a part of the list.
McGough Construction has been selected to build the new Spam Museum in downtown Austin, Minnesota. Demolition began last week on the site. The official groundbreaking is set for the beginning of 2015 with the grand opening of the new Spam Museum to be spring of 2016 for Hormel’s 125th anniversary.
McGough has always enjoyed working on educational facilities. Knowing that our handiwork will impact students for years to come is nothing short of awe inspiring. We are honored to have been selected to build the new Student Activity Center at St. Agnes School.

It’s always fun when our remarkable people are highlighted and recognized in the news. In October 2013, The Pioneer Press published a great article in conjunction with The Ordway highlighting the return of two of McGough’s remarkable people, Concrete Superintendent Mike Johnson and Quality Assurance Specialist Mike Kemp, for The Ordway Center’s new concert hall project.
On Thursday, July 31st, 2014, 180 Degrees Board of Directors celebrated with partners and friends for the grand opening of a new shelter facility for young girls in Saint Paul, Minnesota, named Brittany’s Place.
We love our clients! Quite simply – they rock! We especially love it when clients get just as excited as we are for the completion of a brand new building. Surly Co. has done it again with an awesome video highlighting the construction project on their new Destination Brewery, slated to be brewing beer in October, 2014.
We’re always thrilled to kick off a new project and the new Duluth Office Tower was no exception. Along with Governor Mark Dayton in attendance at the event held on June 17, 2014 were key members of McGough’s Duluth Project team.
It’s always great to see progress on any project, especially when the project is as unique as a brewery. Even more awesome is working with the Surly team who is just as excited as we are! We’re pumped to see all of the great change that is going on at Surly Brewery Co.’s new brewery, slated to start brewing in Fall 2014.
It was a great day at the Ordway! Today, the McGough Ordway project team and our project partners celebrated the placement of the last steel beam on the new Ordway Center Concert Hall. All workers who have played a role in the project attended the topping off ceremony – a longstanding construction industry tradition – along with key representatives from The Ordway, as well as other project partners.
