Keller Receives 2015 Renovation of the Year Award from Golf Inc.
This week, one of our clients earned the impressive distinction of 2015 Renovation of the Year from Golf Inc! Keller Golf Course is one of the best public courses in the country and has a rich history of hosting national tournaments. We are fortunate to have been part of this very cool project, which rebuilt the course, clubhouse and pro shop with the mission of preserving and enhancing the course’s storied past.
The course owner (Ramsey County) hired a golf course architect for the course and McGough as a separate design-builder for the new clubhouse and pro shop. For many clients, these efforts would remain largely separate efforts, but here, we had the opportunity to partner with the broader team to bring a unique level of collaboration to the process. The collaborative process had very positive impacts on project outcomes and saved the County time and money.
“We literally had to share the same dirt on site,” said Tom Nonnemacher, McGough Principal-in-Charge on the design-build project. “We were able to find the best ways of sharing resources and to do so much more than just peacefully coexist on the site.”
