GRINNELL, Iowa — McGough Construction announced that it has been selected to construct a $50 million humanities and social studies complex for Grinnell College.
The project will renovate and expand two existing, historic academic buildings, Carnegie Hall and the adjacent Alumni Recitation Hall (ARH), to create a unified, flexible space that aids the college in building upon its record for outstanding academic achievement. The complex is part of the College’s comprehensive campus plan and will maintain campus aesthetics while promoting sustainable architecture. The phased expansion and renovation will encompass an estimated total of 173,000 gross-square-feet.
“It’s an honor to have been selected to be a member of this prestigious team,” said Scott Sylvester, Vice President for McGough’s Iowa office. “We are looking forward to partnering with Grinnell College and EYP Architecture and Engineering.”
The humanities and social studies complex project is currently under design by award-winning architect EYP and is slated to break ground in fall 2016.
