General Contractor Becomes the First in Minnesota to Receive Yellow Ribbon Designation from Governor Mark Dayton
August 20, 2014
On Wednesday, August 20th, 2014, McGough was designated a Yellow Ribbon Company by the Governor of the State of Minnesota in recognition of the company’s past accomplishments, ongoing efforts, and detailed action plan in support of service members and their families through deployment and beyond. In attendance at the proclamation ceremony were hundreds of McGough employees, representatives from the cities of White Bear Lake and Roseville, Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce executives, and Minnesota Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Richard C. Nash. McGough is one of a small group of Minnesota companies – and the first general contractor in the state – to receive this honor.
The state of Minnesota recognizes a Yellow Ribbon Company as a broad, organizationally structured company with national, regional and statewide influence that employs policies and procedures, provides training and development, and engages in community and employee outreach in comprehensive, proactive support of service members and their families.
“The men and women of the Minnesota National Guard, other U.S. Forces, and their families, have earned our admiration and appreciation,” said Governor Mark Dayton. “They have also earned our continuing assistance. I thank McGough for joining nearly 300 Yellow Ribbon cities, counties, and businesses, who have committed to support our Minnesota heroes, when they return home.”
“McGough‘s commitment to supporting veterans and their families extends well beyond our policies and procedures,” said COO Brad Wood. “We seek to build strong relationships with troops and their families through outreach on multiple levels, and we are honored to do our part to give back to these men and women that serve our country.”
McGough is one of the Upper Midwest’s premier construction firms offering full-service real estate capabilities. The firm, incorporated in 1956 by Peter McGough and his six sons, remains a family-owned company today. McGough is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, with branch offices in St. Cloud and Rochester, Minnesota; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Phoenix, Arizona. To learn more, visit www.mcgough.com.
