This project consisted of an existing science building that was converted into classroom, office and auditorium space. The restoration included interior demolition and restructure. McGough revised the existing roof frame structure and added a reinforced concrete slab on top of the roof for new mechanical systems for the building. Since this building has been classified as a historic structure, special attention was given to all exterior work performed on the building. McGough also met significant ADA challenges while keeping the existing building structure intact. We reconstructed all rest rooms and auditoriums to ADA. McGough completed this work while keeping the existing "old-world" feel of the building. McGough’s original 10-month construction schedule was revised to meet the owner’s needs. The project was completed in eight months.
