University of Minnesota Southeast Steam Plant : Minneapolis, MN

Pre-construction and construction-phase services for this historical building; a member of the National Register of Historic Places. McGough completed a major exterior restoration, including tuck-pointing of veneer brick and stone and replacement of damaged brick. Emergency structural stabilization was also performed on parts of the building envelope. In order to restore the plant to a weather-tight condition, a new window and curtain wall system was installed, along with a new roof. Major site improvements include reconstruction of the North Road, conveyor shaft demolition and removal of abandoned structures. An additional project was initiated to replace a deteriorating retaining wall and add a parking area to better accommodate plant operations.
