The project is the collaborative effort of The Hormel Foundation, Mayo Clinic and University of Minnesota. The project consists of a two-story, plus penthouse addition to the Institute's existing facility. The addition is approximately 46,500 square feet and will be a steel-framed structure. The exterior of the building is architectural precast panels, aluminum window systems and aluminum panels. The addition houses 20 new research laboratories and complete support. The existing buildings constructed in 1959 and 1979 both received extensive remodeling. The project also included all related site work.
