AMES, Iowa – McGough Construction announced that it has been selected, after a competitive selection process, to construct a new biosciences facility for Iowa State University.
The project will total approximately 120,000-square-feet. The building will house portions of the Genetics Development and Cell Biology, Entomology, and Plant Pathology and Microbiology (PLPM) Departments, and will accommodate advanced teaching, formal and informal collaboration spaces, a general university classroom, PLPM administrative spaces, the PLPM diagnostic clinic, and research and related support.
“McGough is excited to collaborate with Iowa State University and its partners on this new building,” said Scott Sylvester, Vice President for McGough’s Iowa office. “It is especially gratifying that the project supports areas of study that are a vital part of Iowa’s economy.”
The biosciences facilities project is slated to break ground in early 2017.
